French Enrichment Classes

Offered at each of our campuses, our afterschool programs extend the day with purpose and joy for children ages 4 to 11. These classes are grounded in our child-centered, bilingual approach and designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection—en français. While the atmosphere is playful and warm, the language immersion is intentional: thoughtfully structured to support both new and fluent French speakers in building vocabulary, confidence, and cultural fluency through meaningful, hands-on experiences. From movement and music to visual arts and storytelling—and for some, a more structured pathway into French reading and writing—every class is led by educators and artists who understand children and know how to meet them where they are.

Looking For More Than Enrichment?

This afterschool program is designed for families who want a structured, rigorous path to bilingualism—aligned with the French National Education curriculum, taught by certified educators, and rooted in the pedagogical philosophy of Smith Street Maternelle. It carries forward the wonder and joy of a preschool immersion experience while adapting to your child’s cognitive, emotional, and social development in early elementary school.

We created this expanded overview in response to parent questions and evolving needs. Below, you’ll find everything you need to understand what your child will experience each afternoon: the learning goals, the daily rhythm, and the long-term vision.

Location: 80 Clinton St, Brooklyn Heights
